What Do You Need?

It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget to address our most basic needs. We push through all in the name of productivity. But when we overlook our needs, we set ourselves up for burnout.

So, let’s start with the basics:

Do you need a nap?

Do you need to drink some water?

Do you need something to eat?

These are simple questions, but they’re essential. They’re not just nice-to-haves—they’re necessary for your survival. When we neglect our foundational needs, it becomes harder to manage inevitable daily stressors.

But let’s go deeper. What else do you need? And I mean really need, not just want. We can fall into the trap of prioritizing just about everything over our health and well-being, making our basic human needs secondary. This inevitably leads to burnout because we’re not giving ourselves the care and attention we require to simply be human.

Do you need more time with friends to feel connected? Do you need more support at work or at home? Do you need a vocational shift to align your work with your values? It’s essential to ask yourself these questions and take them seriously.

So, what do you need? Take a moment to reflect on your life and ask yourself honestly. Your well-being should never be an afterthought—it’s the foundation of stepping into the world with courage and integrity.
