Creativity & Coaching
Creativity is more than making art—it’s the act of bringing something new into being, shaping the world in ways both big and small. It’s a way of solving proglems, imagining possibilities, and stepping into the unknown. Yet, so many of us hesitate to claim our own creativity, discouraged by comparison, self-doubt, or the belief that creativity is reserved for artists. But what if creativity is woven into the very fabric of who we are? And when we embrace it, we step more fully into our own agency—the ability to make intentional choices, navigate challenges, and move forward with purpose.
I believe deeply in the intersection of coaching and creativity. Coaching is not about giving advice or providing answers—it’s about holding space for people to uncover their own wisdom, explore possibilities, and take meaningful action. Just as creative expression allows us to see the world differently, coaching helps individuals see themselves differently, unlocking new perspectives and pathways forward. Coaching offers an invitation for people to step into their lives with courage and clarity.
At their core, both creativity and coaching are about transformation. They remind us that we are not passive participants in our lives but active co-creators, capable of shaping our futures with intention. When we give ourselves permission to create—whether through words, ideas, or action—we reclaim our power to influence the world around us.
For those looking for a way to explore creativity as a spiritual practice, my devotional and sketchbook, Draw Close, offers a space to engage in reflection, creativity, and prayer. Whether through journaling, sketching, or simply sitting with a prompt, Draw Close invites you into a practice of presence, helping you connect more deeply with yourself, your faith, and the world around you.
May we all lean into this creative, expansive work, trusting that we are capable of far more than we imagine.
